On April 18, the Southern California Region will hold its annual Dressage Rally in El Cajon. This is always a great rally and it is time to sign up Horse Management volunteers. Please contact Carolyn McCarthy if you are interested in volunteering for the Horse Management team. No previous experience is necessary. This is an excellent way to get behind the scenes at rallies. On May 2, the Show Jump Rally will be held in Poway and volunteers are also needed for the Horse Management team. Please be sure to let Carolyn know if you are available as a Horse Management volunteer for this event as well. The Horse Management Handbook has been updated for 2010. Please be sure to review the updated rule book prior to these events.
The Horse Management Handbook has been updated for 2010. Please be sure that your rally teams have downloaded and reviewed the updated handbook prior to the rallies on April 18 and May 2. Rally teams must have the updated rule book and newsletter in their possession at the rally.
Congratulations to Emily K. from Fallbrook Pony Club who earned her C1 rating on Sunday, March 14.
As rally season approaches, please be sure to read the rulebooks in regards to championship qualification rules. Anyone interested in doing an event rally OR attempting to qualify for champs can now attend any rally being put on by Sierra Pacific (at Woodside or Ram Tap) or Camino Real (Shepherd Ranch). These rallies are being run concurrently with pre-existing USEA sanctioned events so your members must be at least D3 and able to do beginner novice level to participate. You will be responsible for contacting those regions and securing your spots at those rallies. You can do this easily by going to their regional websites for further contact information.
The Quiz Rally will be held April 9-11.
This video analysis clinic and equestrian sport psychology seminar will be hosted by Tahquitz Equestrian Facility Pony Club Riding Center, April 2-3 in Coachella. Please join us for Pasta Night.
Thank you to Jane Wesson and Ron Wesson for organizing the Susan MacIsaac Dressage Clinics in January, February, and March. Clinic attendees received personalized coaching on dressage and musical freestyle from Susan MacIsaac. A significant amount of video equipment and technical know-how was required to pull this off. We are very grateful to Jane and Ron Wesson for all of their efforts to make this a success for the Pony Clubbers. We are looking forward to seeing our Pony Clubbers demonstrate their talents at the Dressage Rally in El Cajon. |
